As It Happens
Dutch skipper Scott Edwards decided to bowl first after winning the toss. So, Brandon King and Johnson Charles came into the crease and had a flying start for the Caribbeans. They both were super aggressive and started hitting from the very first ball. Their partnership of 101 runs came to an end when Dutch bowler Vivian Kingma picked up Johnson Charles. However, Charles scored 54 before leaving the crease. On the other hand, Brandon King smashed a fifty and contributed 76 runs before losing the wicket. Skipper Shai Hope also played a vital role, scoring 47 off 38 balls. Anyway, Nicholas Pooran played the most important role for the Caribbeans. He was unstoppable on the crease and tried to hit every ball he faced. From just 65 balls, Pooran scored an unbeaten 104 runs for the team. He hit nine boundaries and six over boundaries in his innings. Keemo Paul's unbeaten 46 off 25 helped the team to set a massive target of 375 runs for the Netherlands. Chasing the massive target, the Dutches also had a quick start. Openers Virkamjit Singh and Max O'Dowd added 76 runs in the opening partnership. But Roston Chase picked up two wickets in his successive two overs to put the Dutches under pressure. However, it was Teja Nidamanuru, who changed the entire momentum. He was super thrashing on the crease and carried the team with the skipper, Scott Edwards. They made a fantastic partnership of 143 runs to get closer to the target. Although Scott Edwards departed the crease after contributing 67 off 47, Teja Nidamanuru continued scoring runs. His brilliant innings ended in the 44.1 over, scoring the highest 111 runs from 76 balls. After that, it seemed West Indies could secure the match. But Logan Van Beek played unbelievable innings in the lower order, scoring 28 off 14. In the very last over, the Netherlands needed nine runs. They picked up eight runs in the first five balls, losing two wickets. Therefore, the Netherlands needed just one run from the last ball, but Alzarri Joseph took the wicket of Logan van Beek to make the match tie. As a result, the game had gone to the super over.Super Over
