Match Report
Brentford FC welcomed Liverpool at Gtech Community Stadium today. Thomas Frank, the manager of Brentford FC, set up an attacking 3-5-2 formation to take on Liverpool. He used only three CBs with two wing-backs. Meanwhile, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp played his team in a classic 4-3-3 formation, where Darwin Nunez and Diego Jota led the attack along with Luis Diaz. As the home team, Brentford FC tried to take an early lead. They were very aggressive from the start, pushing hard to find the back of the net. Although they had less possession, they seemed a real threat whenever they got the ball. However, Liverpool eventually took control of the match when they got their first goal in the 35th minute. Darwin Nunez drew the first blood as he found the net with the help of Diego Jota. Unfortunately, Jota got a knock in the first half and was replaced by Mohammad Salah at the end of the first half. As both sides failed to score more in the first half, Liverpool went to the break with a one-goal lead. Coming back from the break, the All-Reds became more aggressive and doubled their lead within ten minutes of the second half. Mohammad Salah, who was absent in Liverpool's last four games, set up a goal for Mac Allister in the 55th minute. Mohammad Salah himself registered his name on the scoresheet as he scored a brilliant goal in the 68th minute. However, Ivan Tony returned a goal for Brentford FC when he found the back of the net in the 75th minute. But his goal didn't help Brentford to avoid defeat. The Klopp boys got another one when Cody Gakpo netted the ball just before full-time. In the end, Liverpool secured all three points with a dominating victory against Brentford FC and are now sitting at the top of the table.Mac Allister on Salah
Mohammad Salah made a huge impact after he came off the bench. Argentine World Cup winner Mac Allister praised Salah's performance against the Bees. "He is amazing. I am very happy for him. He has been out and a little bit frustrated about it, but he came back and in just a couple of minutes, scored and assist. He is an amazing player and a great leader and an important player for us," Allister shared his thoughts after the match.Related reading
