Match Report
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been dealing with tons of injured players. At this stage, every point counts as Liverpool are looking for the league title. But injury has been a massive issue for the All-Reds. Against Luton Town, they missed the service of Mohammad Salah, Trent Alexander Arnold, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, and many more. Therefore, Luton Town tried to dominate from the start and became successful. The visitors found the back of the net in just 12 minutes of the game as Chiedozie Ogbene had given Luton Town a precious lead at Anfield. Liverpool tried hard but failed to find the equalizer in the first half. Therefore, Luton Town went to break with a one-goal lead. Coming back from the break, the home side didn't have to wait much to find the net. Skipper Virgil Van Dijk gave Liverpool a lifeline when he converted Mac Allister's corner kick into a brilliant goal with his powerful header in the 55th minute. This goal was a massive boost for the Klopp boys, and they became more aggressive after the first goal. Liverpool doubled their lead within three minutes when Cody Gakpo scored in the 58th minute with a header. Mac Allister once again set up Liverpool's second goal, which helped them to take the lead for the first time in the match. Luton Town, however, tried their best to score more. But they were nowhere near scoring a goal in the rest of the time. The All-Reds made the scoreline 3-1 when Luis Diaz netted the ball in the 71st minute with the help of Robertson. Young midfielder Harvey Elliot hammered the last nail to Luton Town's coffin when his bullet shot found the back of the net in the 90th minute. In the end, Liverpool won the match by a 4-1 margin at Anfield and have gone four points clear of Man City.Klopp on Winning the Match
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp shared his thoughts after the match . He said, "The difference between talking to you after a game we lost and a game after we’ve won, you cannot imagine how big that is. Tonight is one of these nights where it is difficult to stop talking about it, to be honest. It just wants to come out of me... I am so happy with the performance, I am so happy with so many things we saw tonight. Before the game, nobody knew how the boys will take on this challenge – because it is a challenge."Related reading
