As it happened
Bayern Munich welcomed RB Leipzig last night at Allianz Arena. Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel played his team in a 4-2-3-1 formation, where Thomas Muller played as a center-forward. Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman played as the two wingers. Besides, Leipzig manager Marco Rose set up his team formation with a unique 4-2-2-2. However, the match started with Bayern Munich dominating the visitors. As the home team, Bayern got tremendous support from the gallery. Therefore, the Bavarians didn't take much time to take the lead. It was Serge Gnabry who put Bayern ahead of Leipzig. He scored a brilliant goal in the 25th minute with an assist from Thomas Muller. After that goal, both sides couldn't score more in the first half. Returning from the break, RB Leipzig started creating more chances in the second half. They highly pushed the home team at Allianz Arena and earned a very needed goal. In the 64th minute, RB Leipzig equalized with Bayern as midfielder Konrad Laimer found the net. After getting the equalizer, RB Leipzig became more aggressive and desperate for goals. Finally, their chance came in the 70th minute when Bayern's defender Benjamin Pavard fouled Nkunku inside the box. Therefore, the visitors earned a penalty kick from where Christopher Nkunku scored for Leipzig. Bayern Munich, then, had gone crazy to level the scoreline, but Leipzig were rock solid and didn't concede anymore. The visitor earned another penalty kick as Noussair Mazraoui made a handball inside the box in the 85th minute. However, Dominik Szoboszlai stepped forward to take the kick and successfully found the net. As a result, Leipzig won a important match against Bayern Munich, making Bayern's title hope almost over.Related reading
