Match Report
Ireland won the toss and elected to bat first at Sylhet International Stadium, but they struggled against Bangladesh's pace attack. All of Ireland's ten wickets were taken by three Bangladeshi pacers, as they were bowled out for just 101 runs in 28.1 overs. Young pacer Hasan Mahmud was the standout bowler for Bangladesh, picking up his career-best figures of 5-32 in his 8.1 overs. Taskin Ahmed took three wickets, while Ebadat Hossain picked up the remaining two wickets. For Ireland, Curtis Campher scored the highest 36 runs from 48 balls. In response, Bangladesh openers Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das made short work of the modest target, chasing it down in just 13.1 overs without losing a single wicket. Tamim scored an unbeaten 41 runs with five boundaries and two sixes, while Liton remained not out on 53 runs, hitting ten boundaries. This was Bangladesh's first-ever 10-wicket victory in an ODI match, and it was a dominant performance by the team. Throughout the series, Bangladesh's pace attack was impressive, consistently taking wickets and restricting Ireland's scoring. In addition, the top-order batting clicked in the final match, securing a convincing win. This will give Bangladesh confidence going into their upcoming matches. For Ireland, it was a disappointing end to the series. They were unable to capitalize on their victory in the first match and struggled to put up competitive totals in the two matches that were played. However, they will take some positives from the performances of their young players, who gained valuable experience playing against a strong Bangladesh side. It was an entertaining series of cricket, and Bangladesh deservedly came out on top with a dominant performance in the final match.Related reading
