Bangladesh Fly to USA For T20 World Cup

The T20 format has become one of the most interesting formats of cricket. The ICC Men's T20 World Cup will start from June 2, when 20 nations will fight for the World Cup glory.

Bangladesh Cricket Team departed for the USA last night with a 16-member squad. Two more players joined the main Squad On the same flight as the reserve players. 

Bangladesh will start their World Cup journey on June 8 with the match against Sri Lanka. But before that, they are scheduled to play three T20 matches against the USA on May 21, 23, and 25.

Bangladesh Squad for World Cup

Bangladesh Cricket Board, BCB, has announced a 16-man squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup. They also keep two reserve players along with the main Squad. The board announced Najmul Hossain Shanto as the Captain and Taskin Ahmed as the Vice Captain.

Bangladesh squad:  Najmul Hossain Shanto (c), Taskin Ahmed, Litton Das, Soumya Sarkar, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Shakib Al Hasan, Tawhid Hridoy, Mahmud Ullah Riyad, Jaker Ali Anik, Tanvir Islam, Shak Mahedi Hasan, Rishad Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam, Tanzim Hasan Sakib.

Traveling reserves:  Afif Hossain, Hasan Mahmud

There have been many criticisms about The inclusion of Liton Kumar Das, as the player is not getting run for a long time. But captain Shanto has faith in Liton and believes he can play better in the World Cup. 

"Litton is A very important Player in our team. He hasn't had a good time recently. It can happen to any cricketer. But we didn't want to bring in a new player for such a big event. We valued Litton's experience. I wouldn't have dropped him, said Najmul Shanto.

Last World Cup for Mahmudullah

Mahmudullah was out of the squad for six months but has made a strong comeback. He has been scoring runs regularly and made himself one of the important players for Bangladesh. But it might be the last T20 World Cup for this experienced Batsman.

"He's changed his approach to batting a lot. His role is going to be in the middle order, probably be the enforcer in the middle As Well as a finisher role, which he has done remarkably well lately in all formats, in the domestics as well," said Chandika Hathurasinghe

Pace Bowling Lineup

In the past, Bangladesh were heavily relied on their spinners. But the times have changed for them as their pace bowling department has been doing well for the last few years. 

Bangladesh now have some quality pacers who have earned recognition around the world. Mustafiz is one of the best bowlers in the Indian Premier League, IPL. Taskin Ahmed was about to play in the IPL this year, but BCB didn't allow him to go due to his fitness concerns. However, these two pacers will lead the bowling department along with others. 

Head coach Chandika Hathurasinghe is also hopeful about Taskin. He said, "Taskin is our Leader of the pack In fast bowling. Taskin is A very important Member for us. He's a leader. That's why he's the vice-captain as well. We have the best medical and recovery procedures in America So We are going to use those resources and then give him the best chance of be fit for the first Game."
