Short answer: BoaBet did not replace Unibet worldwide. Unibet Poker announced that, from 6 November 2024, customers with poker access outside 11 named markets would move to BoaBet. Customers in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark, Romania, Estonia, Malta, Finland and France remained with Unibet Poker.
The timing overlapped with FDJ's acquisition of Kindred, the group behind Unibet. That does not make the migration a global Unibet rebrand. Unibet remains an active FDJ UNITED flagship brand, while BoaBet currently operates as a separate site under Blue Boulder Limited and a Malta Gaming Authority licence.
What Changed on 6 November 2024?
The official Unibet Poker announcement described a market-specific poker migration. It did not announce that every Unibet sportsbook, casino or poker customer would become a BoaBet customer.
- Customers who stayed on Unibet Poker: those in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark, Romania, Estonia, Malta, Finland and France. France used a separate network.
- Customers who moved: existing poker customers outside those listed markets who still had access to the product.
- Product at launch: the same poker network and product were available through BoaBet.
- Software limitation: the migration notice said BoaBet would use a browser client, without Windows, macOS, Android or iPhone poker apps.
- Account value: the notice said tickets, bonus points and bonuses would transfer for migrated customers.
The announcement also said it could not confirm how long BoaBet would remain part of the same poker network. A 2024 migration statement should therefore not be stretched into a permanent claim about every current product or market.
Did FDJ Buy Unibet?
FDJ acquired Kindred Group, not Unibet as a standalone company removed from Kindred. The FDJ tender-offer announcement described Kindred as a multi-brand group and Unibet as its dominant customer-facing brand.
FDJ also said the combined group would focus on locally regulated markets or markets moving toward regulation. The acquisition and the BoaBet poker migration happened close together, but the official documents describe two different events:
- FDJ's takeover brought Kindred and its brands into the wider group.
- Unibet Poker moved a defined set of customers outside its retained market list to BoaBet.
FDJ UNITED's 2025 integrated report, published in 2026, still calls Unibet its flagship betting brand and says the group operates online betting and gaming in more than 10 countries. Unibet was therefore not replaced globally by BoaBet.

| Did every Unibet sportsbook or casino account move? | No such global migration was announced. |
| Is Unibet still active? | Yes. FDJ UNITED still identifies Unibet as a flagship betting brand. |
Who Operates BoaBet Now?
On 29 July 2026, the official BoaBet site identified Blue Boulder Limited as its operator. The footer listed Malta Gaming Authority licence MGA/CRP/169/2009.
The MGA authorisation record confirms that Blue Boulder Limited is licensed and lists boabet-eu.com among its authorised website addresses. The licence covers casino, fixed-odds betting, bingo and peer-to-peer poker services.
The public address boabet.com currently redirects to the operator's play.boabet-eu.com site. Search results also contain unrelated domains using the BoaBet name. Check the operator name, licence number and authorised domain before entering account or payment details.
What BoaBet Offers Today
The current official navigation shows sports betting, casino, games, bingo and poker. This confirms the available product categories, but it does not prove that every category, promotion or payment method is available in every country or account.
We did not use a funded account, place a bet, complete identity checks, test support or request a withdrawal. We therefore removed the old article's claims about game counts, competitive odds, instant payments, 24-hour support, no fees and specific bonuses. Those claims were either unsourced, account-dependent or too volatile to present as verified facts.
What Migrated Unibet Customers Should Check
- Start from the official Unibet or BoaBet domain, not a search-result login page.
- Confirm which brand currently owns your account and which local rules apply.
- Check whether old tickets, points or bonuses are visible before using them.
- Use the official help route if an old login no longer works.
- Do not bypass country controls or enter credentials on an unverified mirror.
- Save the account history and the terms that apply to any disputed balance.
A Malta licence verifies a regulated operator and licence scope. It does not automatically establish local permission in every country. Users must check the rules and authorised operators where they live.
How We Verified This Update
We compared the original Unibet Poker migration notice, FDJ's Kindred acquisition announcement, FDJ UNITED's current integrated report, BoaBet's live operator footer and the MGA licence record on 29 July 2026.
The previous version incorrectly described BoaBet as a universal Unibet relaunch and added promotional product, bonus, payment and security claims without decision-safe evidence. This update keeps only facts supported by the named primary sources. Read our verification methodology for the checks we use on operator and betting-product pages.
BoaBet and Unibet FAQ
Is BoaBet Unibet?
Not as a global brand replacement. BoaBet received selected Unibet Poker customers outside 11 retained markets in November 2024 and used the same poker network at launch.
Why did some Unibet accounts move to BoaBet?
Unibet Poker narrowed the markets served under its own poker brand. Its official notice moved eligible poker customers outside the retained market list to BoaBet.
Can I use my old Unibet login at BoaBet?
The 2024 notice said eligible customers and their tickets, points and bonuses would be migrated. Current login recovery should be completed only through the official BoaBet or Unibet help route.
Does BoaBet have a poker app?
The migration announcement said BoaBet poker would be browser-only, without desktop or mobile apps. We did not verify a current native poker app during the July 2026 review.
Who operates BoaBet?
BoaBet's current footer names Blue Boulder Limited. The Malta Gaming Authority lists the company as licensed under MGA/CRP/169/2009.
Did FDJ rename Unibet to BoaBet?
No. FDJ acquired Kindred Group, and Unibet remains an active FDJ UNITED brand. The BoaBet change applied to a defined group of poker customers, not all Unibet products and markets.
Is BoaBet available in my country?
Availability depends on the operator's current rules and local law. A Malta licence alone does not establish local authorisation in every jurisdiction.

A brand migration does not change the financial risk of gambling. Set affordable deposit and time limits, do not chase losses, and stop if play becomes difficult to control. See our responsible gambling policy for support and account-control resources.
