Interview of iGaming Gil Rotem’s IGT President

IGT is the top iGaming supplier in North America and in an interview Gil Rotem, IGT’s President of iGaming, said they are introducing the digital and betting division under the leadership of Enrico Drago, the division's chief executive. He depends on Joe Asher, the former William Hill US chief executive for managing the sports betting site of the business as president, while Gil Rotem serves as the president of iGaming, as his counterpart. But this is not the first foray of IGT into online gambling. It has been active in this industry since its merger with GTECH in 2015. Only a few have a long history in iGaming in comparison to Gil Rotem. He became a part of 888 Holdings in 2002 to manage the technical teams and infrastructure of the operator before he took over operational duties until his departure in 2007 when he was roped in by Bet365 to develop their gaming business. Thereafter, he became the COO for gaming and then group director of gaming strategy until he moved into consulting in 2017. Rotem says the vision of the squad and the potential of IGT draw him to the role. He says he sees a significant opportunity for us with the assets they have with the people they have, and the vision he shares with Enrico. This is what caused him to join the team. Rotem gas has taken charge of IGT’s Digital&Betting and generated $90m in revenue. According to him, in the present operating states, they are taken to be the leader as a single game provider. He explains that in the market the company has 20%-30% and at times even bigger market share in B2B. Rotem asserts that presently, they are just an Omni-channel company. He states that they are very strong in taking up land-based content and offering a similar experience online and delivering a smooth experience. Rotem aims to build on the success of IGT to date by delivering more original and proprietary online gaming content customized to players’ jurisdictional requirements and preferences. At present, IGT is in the process of integrating the iSoftBet technology to release the first iSoftBet games in the United States in the next few months.
