A Hotel-Casino Proposal on the Las Vegas Strip Is Expected to Fill the Empty Resort Corridor

A hotel and casino proposal on Las Vegas Strip has been given the green light from Clark County officials. However, the timeframe for the construction has been declared. A proposal from Tilman Fertitta and Fertitta Entertainment has been approved by The Clark County Zoning Commission which represents and owns the Houston Rockets, Golden Nugget casinos, and multiple restaurant chains across the country. The proposal throws light on 43 stories, a 2500-seater theatre, 2420 hotel rooms, a wedding chapel, a 37000 square foot gym, an underground garage, and 97000 square feet of convention facilities. Jeff Cantwell, Fertitta Entertainment’s Vice President of Development in a statement to FOX5 dais that they are pleased with unanimous approval by Clark County Commission. But it is just another stepping stone in the in total planning and review process. No significant decision has yet been made regarding plans. The UNLV William F. Harrah College of Hospitality’s assistant professor, Dr. Amanda Belarmino, explains why there can be a market for another property in the area that has become a hotbed for live entertainment and sport, surrounded by T-Mobile Arena, Allegiant Stadium, and Michelob Ultra Arena. Belarmino stated that it makes sense to have another property there in case Tropicana is going to come out of the market. He made the statement while addressing the rumors that an Oakland A’s stadium might be built on the Vintage Vegas property. She said that we know that there is a lot of potentials as they progress with the Golden Knights and Raiders, and then with the Super Bowl. The Golden Nugget fan's properties in Downtown Las Vegas could offer a ready base of travelers who are searching for a stay in the Las Vegas Strip.
