Match Report
After winning 11 games in a row, Tottenham were winless in their last four matches. Therefore, they were very desperate to get back on the winning track with the game against West Ham United. Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou set up his team formation with 4-2-3-1, while West Ham's boss David Moyes played his team in a classic 4-3-3 formation. The first half saw Tottenham Hotspur dominating the visitors at the Spurs Stadium, keeping more possession against the Hammers. The home team, however, took no time to find the net. Argentine defender Christian Romero, who returned from suspension, put Tottenham ahead of the game with a fantastic goal. Christian Romero's header found the net in the 11st minute, giving the Spurs a lead against the Hammers. West Ham United, unfortunately, failed to score a goal in the remaining minute of the first half. As a result, the first half ended in a 1-0 at the Spurs Stadium. However, West Ham United were completely a different side after the break. They were very aggressive from the beginning of the second half and earned an early goal. Jarrod Bowen, who came from an injury, gave West Ham United the equalizer as he found the net in the 52nd minute. The both sides, after that, created tons of chances, but it was the Hammers who scored again! When the game seemed to be tied, Hammers' man James Ward-Prowse hit the net and scored in the 74th minute. Tottenham Hotspur couldn't break West Ham's defense in the remaining minutes, resulting in West Ham United winning the match by a 2-1 margin. Tottenham Hotspur set a new record in this match. Despite scoring first in five consecutive games, they haven't won any of them. They are also the first team to loss three home games in a row despite scoring first.Related reading
