Who Is The Favorite?
Brazil and Argentina are always crowd favorites in major international tournaments. These two teams have massive fans all around the world. But this Copa America will be very competitive as three or four teams are very favorite to win the trophy.
Uruguay and the defending Champions Argentina are the most successful teams in this competition, having 15 titles for each. However, Argentina ended their 28 years of trophy drought by winning the Copa America in 2021, which was also the first international trophy for Lionel Messi.
Argentina have been flying since then and won the FIFA World Cup in the following year. There is no doubt Argentina is the most favorite in this Copa America.
But Brazil and Uruguay could be a great threat for the La Albiceleste. Uruguay had a difficult period for a certain time, but they have been doing well under the legendary manager Marcelo Bielsa. It will be no surprise if Uruguay win the Copa America 2024.
Brazil, on the other hand, have an interesting squad. The five-time World Cup winner has everything to win any tournament. Players like Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, Martinelli, Jesus, Paqueta, and Bruno Guimaraes can destroy any opponent. Unfortunately, their poster boy Neymar Jr will miss this tournament due to an injury.
But Brazil's biggest drawback can be their management. The last World Cup was a total disaster for the Selecao under Tite. Although they replaced Tite with Dorival Junior, it remains to be seen how Brazil play under the new manager.
