Chennai Super Kings, CSK, is one of the most successful teams in IPL. Although they started their season with a defeat, the CSK are getting their momentum back again. They defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore tonight by eight runs in a very high-scoring match. Toss: Faf Du Plessis, the captain of the RCB, won the toss and decided to bowl first.

CSK lost an early wicket but recovered brilliantly

Losing the toss, Chennai Super Kings started their batting innings with Rituraj Gaikwad and Devon Conway. Unfortunately, they failed to make a good partnership on the opening wicket. Opener Gaikwad lost his wicket after scoring only three runs. However, Kiwi batter Devon Conway tackled the disaster with Ajinkya Rahane. They made a brilliant partnership of 74 runs for the CKS. Devon Conway was super aggressive in the crease. He hit six sixes and six fours during his innings. Devon Conway built another partnership after Ajinkya Rahane's departure. With Shivam Dube, Conway picked up 80 runs together on the scoreboard. However, Devon Conway's brilliant innings ended in the 16th over as Harshal Patel bowled him out. Before leaving the pitch, Conway scored the highest 83 off 45 balls. On the other hand, Shivam Dubi contributed a quick 52 runs from 27 balls. Relying on their bats, Chennai Super Kings ended their innings with massive 226 runs.

RCB fought hard but failed in the end

Chasing the target, RCB also lost an early wicket as Virat Kohli departed the crease in the very first over. Mahipal Lormor, the following batter, also failed and had gone duck. But skipper du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell were very ruthless against the CSK bowlers. They ruled the bowlers and kept hitting boundaries. Together they picked up 126 runs, which made a basement for the RCB. Both batters got a half-century in this match. It seemed RCB would win this game, but CSK took control of the match by taking the wicket of Maxwell. In the 13th over, Mahesh Theekshana picked up Glenn Maxwell, who scored the highest 76 off 36. After a while, captain du Plessis also departed the crease after scoring 62 runs from 33 balls. Following the departure of these two batters, RCB couldn't fight back. Their innings ended with 218 runs, which secured the victory for the CSK by eight runs.
