Arsenal Complete Comeback to Make It Three Wins in a Row

Arsenal continued their perfect start to the Premier League season with a 2-1 win over Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners fell behind inside the opening two minutes, but goals from Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard turned the game around. It was Arsenal’s third win in three league games and perhaps their toughest test so far. Chelsea made life difficult, especially early on, but Mikel Arteta’s side stayed calm and found a way to take all three points.

Havertz Responds After Chelsea’s Dream Start

Chelsea could not have asked for a better start. Morgan Rogers gave the visitors the lead after only 77 seconds, catching Arsenal before they had settled into the game. It was a big early blow for the home side. But instead of panicking, Arsenal stayed patient and slowly began to find their rhythm.

The Gunners started to see more of the ball and pushed Chelsea deeper. They moved the ball from side to side, looking for gaps in the Chelsea defence. The visitors defended well for a while, but Arsenal’s pressure continued to grow.

The equalizer finally came in the 25th minute. Havertz found the back of the net against his former club to make it 1-1. It was exactly what Arsenal needed. The goal brought the home crowd back to life and gave the players more confidence. From that point, Arsenal looked more comfortable. They controlled more of the game and continued to search for a second goal. Chelsea still looked dangerous when they went forward, so the Gunners could not afford to switch off. Neither side managed to score again before halftime, and the teams went into the break level at 1-1.

Odegaard Strikes in 2nd Half

Arsenal started the second half brightly and quickly got the goal they were looking for. Just five minutes after the restart, Odegaard put the Gunners ahead. The Arsenal captain made it 2-1 and completed the turnaround after their difficult start to the match.

Chelsea now had to change their approach. They needed a goal and began to push more players forward, which made the second half more open. Arsenal had chances to attack the spaces left behind, but they also had to be careful at the other end. Chelsea kept looking for an equalizer and tried to put the home defence under pressure

But Arsenal handled the pressure well. They stayed organized at the back and did not give Chelsea many clear chances. Arteta’s side managed the closing minutes well and held on until the final whistle. Arsenal boss Arteta appreciated his team for such a performance. He said, "I enjoyed every minute from beginning to end. The beginning was tough, but I enjoyed it because the team reacted in a spectacular way. The conviction, determination, quality and intent we showed to help them constantly - it was beautiful. It was a fascinating game I think for the spectator as well, and I think we deserved to win the game which I’m really pleased with, obviously."
