Arsenal Blow Manchester City Away to Claim 2026 Community Shield

Arsenal won the first piece of silverware of the new season with a confident 3–0 victory over Manchester City in the FA Community Shield at the Principality Stadium. From the first minute to the last, Mikel Arteta’s team looked sharper, faster, and more organized than the reigning league champions.

Goals from Riccardo Calafiori, Kai Havertz, and Martin Ødegaard gave Arsenal a deserved win. Manchester City struggled to find their usual passing rhythm, while Arsenal took their chances well and defended solidly throughout the ninety minutes.

A Dream Start for Arsenal

Maresca also brought on fresh players from his bench, but City still could not break down the Arsenal defense. Goalkeeper David Raya had a relatively quiet afternoon, as most of City’s shots were blocked before reaching the goal or went wide of the target.

When the final whistle sounded, Arsenal celebrated an impressive team performance with their traveling fans in Cardiff. Captain Martin Ødegaard lifted the Community Shield, giving Arsenal positive momentum as the Premier League season gets underway.
